Mapping of value chains in 8 Pacific Island Countries to build business value chain supply in the Pacific Region for SMEs. (EU BIZCLIM Project)

Armenia (Yerevan) | 2012 (35 days)

Capacity Building Project and assessing the quality and effectiveness of existing management capacity and systems in the value chains of Tourism, ICT, Food Processing and Pharmaceuticals. (USAid Project)

Competitiveness improvement strategies for cluster SMEs in the footwear and apparel clusters. (AuSAID project)

Turkey (Adiyaman) | 2007 (80 days)

Formulating regional competitiveness improvement strategy for Textiles based on innovative carbon neutral and organic fibre manufacturing. (EU GAP-GIDEM ATEKS Project)

Fashion and Textile Cluster Project Setting up Fashion Institute a Textile Research Centre  and a Textile Consultancy Centre (EU Fashion and Textile Cluster Project)

Sri Lanka (Colombo) | 2004 (180 days)

Apparel quality and competitiveness improvement project  (National Productivity Improvement Project for Manufacturing Clusters)

Turkey (Gaziantep) | 2004 (15 days)

Developed business plans for Business Advisory Centres and trained their staff to deliver Business Development Services (i.e. Business Support Managers). (EU ABiGEM BDS Provider Project)

Eritrea (Asmara) | 2003 (25 days)

Working with the Government of Eritrea to develop an SME training centre to build capacity and create competitive businesses environments. (UNIDO Integrated Programme Eritrea)

Trinidad (Port of Spain) | 1998- 2003 (280 days)

Implemented a series of projects to improve SME competitiveness, including lean manufacturing techniques to improve productivity. This involved supply and value chain analysis, process optimization and training cluster members in team-working techniques. (Front Row)

Turkey (Gaziantep) | 2003 (20 days)

Developed a business plan for a warp knitting factory, and trained Business Advisory Centre staff to develop SME capacity. (ABiGEM BDS Provider Project)

Nepal (Kathmandu) | 2003 (20 days)

Undertook a diagnostic survey of the SME sector and prepared strategies and Terms of Reference for interventions to improve competitiveness. (UNIDO Integrated Programme Nepal)

Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) | 2002 (25 days)

Reviewed the Tanzanian textile industry strategy and recommended strategy improvements to enhance export development. (Export Development Programme)

Sri Lanka (Colombo) | 2002 (100 days)

Developed strategies to develop competitiveness of cluster SMEs in the Sri Lankan footwear, leather and apparel clusters. (UNIDO Apparel Sector Restructuring Project)

Russia (Biysk, Pskov, Novosibirsk) | 2001 (75 days)

Provided training and assistance to Business Advisory Centres to increase local capacity and create competitive businesses environments. (60 days – EU TACIS Programme)

Egypt (1998-2001)

Working with the EU Private Sector Development Programme we undertook a series of upgrading and productivity interventions within the textile and garment manufacturing sectors.
